Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Fast Track Impact website and any services, resources, training, workshops or events made available through it.

Fast Track Impact is delivered by the Institute for Methods Innovation. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean the Institute for Methods Innovation, operating through Fast Track Impact. References to “you” mean any visitor, user, participant, purchaser, client or organization using this website or our services.

By using this website, creating an account, registering for training, submitting an enquiry, booking a workshop, purchasing or downloading digital products, downloading resources or subscribing to our communications, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Additional written terms may apply to specific services, including institutional training, consultancy, commissioned work, event bookings, digital products or partner agreements. If there is any conflict between these Terms and a separate written agreement, the separate agreement will take precedence for that service.

1. About this website

This website provides information, resources and services relating to research impact, engagement, evaluation, training and related areas. It may include blog posts, guides, templates, videos, newsletters, podcasts, online training materials, workshop information, booking links, inquiry forms, user accounts, digital downloads, digital products and other resources.

The website is intended to support learning and professional practice. It does not provide legal, financial, medical or other regulated professional advice. You should seek appropriate professional advice when required.

2. Use of the website

You agree to use this website lawfully, responsibly and only for its intended purposes.

You must not:

  • use the website in a way that damages, disrupts or interferes with its operation;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the website, related systems or user data;
  • use automated tools to scrape, copy, harvest or extract data from the website without written permission;
  • upload or transmit malicious code, spam or harmful material;
  • use content from the website for misleading, unlawful, discriminatory, defamatory or infringing purposes;
  • misrepresent your identity, organization or authority when submitting forms, inquiries, bookings or account information.

We may restrict, suspend or terminate access to the website where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached.

3. User accounts and registration

You may be able to create an account on the website to manage reservations, bookings, digital downloads, digital products, course access, order history or related services.

When creating an account, you must provide accurate, current and complete information. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity that occurs through your account.

You must not share your account access with another person unless the relevant service expressly allows this. You must notify us promptly if you believe that your account has been accessed without permission or that your login details have been compromised.

We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe that the account has been misused, created with inaccurate information, used to breach these Terms or used in a way that may harm the website, our services, other users or our rights.

Closing an account may affect your ability to access bookings, downloads, course materials or digital products. Where possible, we will take reasonable steps to preserve access to paid services for the period promised at the time of purchase, unless access has been withdrawn because of a breach of these Terms.

4. Training, workshops and services

We may offer live workshops, webinars, masterclasses, self-paced courses, consultancy, mentoring, evaluation support, ethics appraisal, speaking engagements and other services through this website.

The details of each service, including format, duration, price, trainer, learning aims, included materials and delivery method, will normally be set out on the relevant webpage, booking page, quotation, proposal or agreement.

Where a service is booked by an institution or organization, the booking is normally made on behalf of that organization and any participating staff, students or invited participants. The organization is responsible for ensuring that participants receive relevant joining instructions, access information and any applicable conditions.

We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to the delivery of a workshop or service where necessary. This may include changes to timing, trainer, format, materials or platform, provided that the overall nature and purpose of the service remain substantially the same.

5. Digital products, downloads and online course access

We may make digital products available through the website, including downloadable resources, templates, worksheets, guides, online course materials, recordings or other digital content.

Access terms may vary by product. The relevant product page, order confirmation or account area may specify whether access is time-limited, downloadable, restricted to an individual user or available to an organization.

Unless otherwise stated, digital products are provided for your personal, educational or internal professional use only. You must not share paid digital products with others, upload them to public platforms, resell them, incorporate them into commercial services or use them to deliver training without our written permission.

We may update, replace or remove digital products from time to time. Where you have purchased access to a digital product, we will make reasonable efforts to maintain access for the period stated at the time of purchase.

6. Bookings, payments and invoices

Prices, where shown, are stated on the relevant webpage, booking page or quotation. Any applicable tax treatment, including VAT exemption where stated, will be indicated where relevant.

Bookings may be made through the website, via a user account, by email, via a booking platform or by written quotation or agreement. A booking is confirmed only when we have accepted it in writing, received payment, issued an invoice or otherwise confirmed the booking through the relevant booking process.

For institutional bookings, payment terms will normally be set out in the quotation, invoice or written agreement. Unless otherwise agreed, invoices must be paid by the stated due date.

We may use third-party providers to process bookings, payments, calendar appointments, digital downloads, account access or event registrations. Your use of those services may also be subject to the third party’s own terms and privacy notices.

7. Cancellations, postponements and substitutions

Cancellation and postponement terms may vary depending on the type of service booked and will be set out in the relevant quotation, proposal, booking page or written agreement where applicable.

Unless separate written terms apply, the following general position applies to paid live workshops and institutional bookings:

  • you may request a change of date or format by contacting us as early as possible;
  • we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate changes, but cannot guarantee that all requests can be met;
  • if you cancel a confirmed booking, cancellation charges may apply to reflect preparation time, trainer commitments, administrative work, platform costs and any non-refundable expenses already incurred;
  • if we need to cancel or postpone a session, we will offer a reasonable alternative date, replacement trainer, credit or refund, depending on the circumstances.

For individual purchases of digital products, online courses or other consumer services, any statutory rights that apply to you remain unaffected.

8. Free resources and online training

We may provide free resources, guides, templates, blog posts, videos, newsletters, podcasts and online training materials. These resources are provided for general educational and professional development purposes.

We aim to keep resources accurate and useful, but we do not guarantee that all content will remain complete, current or suitable for every context. Research impact, engagement, evaluation, funding and policy environments change over time, and you are responsible for applying the material appropriately to your own circumstances.

We may update, remove, replace or restrict access to free resources at any time.

9. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, all content on this website is owned by, licensed to or used with permission by the Institute for Methods Innovation, Fast Track Impact or relevant authors, trainers, partners or contributors. This includes text, graphics, logos, videos, slides, templates, worksheets, course materials, downloadable resources, recordings, images, layouts, digital products and branding.

You may view, download and print website materials for your own personal, educational or internal professional use, unless a specific page, product or resource states otherwise.

You may share links to publicly available webpages, blog posts, newsletters and free resources.

You must not, without our prior written permission:

  • sell, license, reproduce or commercially exploit our materials;
  • copy or adapt workshop slides, templates, training exercises, course materials, digital products or paid resources for use in your own training, consultancy or commercial services;
  • remove copyright notices, author credits or branding;
  • upload paid or restricted materials to public websites, shared drives, repositories or learning platforms;
  • share paid downloads, online course materials or restricted digital products outside the authorized user or organization;
  • claim our materials as your own;
  • use our name, logo or branding in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or affiliation where none exists.

Where resources are published under a specific license, that license will apply.

10. Workshop materials and recordings

Workshop slides, handouts, templates, exercises, recordings and other training materials are provided for the use of registered participants or the commissioning organization, depending on the booking terms.

Unless expressly agreed in writing, workshop materials may not be reused to deliver training to others, incorporated into commercial services, distributed beyond the participant group or uploaded to public platforms.

Recording a live workshop, webinar or consultation is not permitted unless we have agreed to this in advance. Where we record a session, we will explain how the recording will be used, who may access it and how long it will remain available.

11. Newsletter and communications

You may subscribe to our newsletter or other communications through the website. We will use your contact details in line with our Privacy Policy.

You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the link provided in our emails or by contacting us.

You may forward our newsletters or share links to publicly available newsletter editions with colleagues who may find them useful, provided you do not alter the content or present it as your own.

12. Comments, submissions and testimonials

The website may allow you to submit comments, inquiries, feedback, testimonials, survey responses, registration details, account information or other information.

You are responsible for ensuring that anything you submit is accurate, lawful and does not infringe the rights of others. You must not submit confidential, sensitive or proprietary information unless the relevant form or agreement is designed for that purpose.

When you provide feedback or a testimonial, we may ask for permission to use it in our communications. We will not knowingly publish identifiable feedback or testimonials without appropriate consent.

We may moderate, edit or remove comments or user-submitted content where we consider this necessary, including where content is unlawful, misleading, offensive, irrelevant, promotional, spam-like or inconsistent with the purpose of the website.

13. Third-party links and services

This website may include links to third-party websites, platforms, publications, tools, payment processors, booking systems, social media sites, video platforms, podcast platforms or other services.

We are not responsible for the content, availability, security, privacy practices or terms of third-party websites or services. Links are provided for convenience and do not necessarily imply endorsement.

You should review the terms and privacy notices of any third-party service before using it.

14. Accuracy and availability

We take reasonable care to provide accurate and up-to-date information, but we do not guarantee that the website or its content will always be complete, current, uninterrupted, secure or error-free.

We may change, suspend or remove any part of the website at any time, including pages, resources, training information, prices, booking options, account functions, digital products and service descriptions.

Where an error appears in a price, service description, digital product listing or booking page, we reserve the right to correct it and, where necessary, cancel or amend any affected booking or order before it is confirmed.

15. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the website, reliance on its content, use of free resources or use of digital products. This includes loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, data, goodwill or business interruption.

For paid services or digital products, our liability will be limited to the amount paid for the relevant service or product, unless a separate written agreement states otherwise or applicable law requires a different position.

You remain responsible for how you apply our training, resources, advice, digital products or materials in your own research, institutional, policy, funding, engagement or professional context.

16. Privacy and cookies

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

These policies explain what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, how long it is kept and what rights may be available to you.

17. Accessibility

We aim to make the website and our resources accessible and usable. If you experience an accessibility problem, please contact us with a description of the issue, the page or resource affected, the device and browser used, where relevant and any accessibility adjustments that would help.

We will review accessibility issues and make reasonable efforts to address them.

18. Force majeure

We will not be responsible for delay or failure to perform our obligations where this is caused by events beyond our reasonable control. This may include illness, serious technical failure, platform outage, extreme weather, travel disruption, industrial action, war, terrorism, pandemic, governmental restriction or other events outside our reasonable control.

Where such an event affects a paid service, booking or digital product, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative arrangement where this is practical.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this website with a revised “last updated” date.

Your continued use of the website after the Terms are updated constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For confirmed paid services, bookings or purchases, the terms in place at the time of booking or purchase will normally apply unless otherwise agreed.

20. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States.

Any disputes relating to these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the United States, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that part will be modified, deleted or enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law. The remaining provisions will continue to apply.
