Live workshop

Influencing policy

Engage policymakers and shape decisions with your research

Online or in person, dates to suit your schedule

Hands-on training for your team to apply practical guidance and tools

Up to 90 participants

Policy engagement often fails to achieve meaningful influence because it is approached in a fragmented way, without a clear strategy, understanding of policy processes, effective communication, or credible evidence of impact

This practical workshop provides a structured introduction to the full policy engagement cycle, from planning and positioning your work, through identifying opportunities to influence policy, to communicating with policy audiences and demonstrating impact. You will develop a coherent approach to engaging with policy across different levels and contexts, grounded in realistic expectations of how evidence is used and how decisions are shaped. The workshop focuses on practical, responsible engagement that supports both immediate influence and longer-term policy impact.
